Go to the knowyour287g.org website to find whether your agency is contracted with ICE.
Send the following message to the email/phone number displayed on your agency.
Dear [Name], I am a resident of [County]. I have learned that this agency has signed to the Memorandum of Agreement with ICE, which endows the agency with immigration enforcement abilities. I do not wish my local agency to participate in the 287g program any longer. The purpose of this program violates the trust of our immigrant neighbors and has disastrous consequences on our community.

2. Pass a Proactive Ordinance
Having a police agency of sheriff’s office announce a statement is the first step. Now, we need to amend local policy to prevent future ICE cooperation.
Enter a demand for your local city council to adopt an Administrative Ordinance to outline the relationship of municipal departments and employees interacting with Federal Immigration Enforcement.
Include the following sections:
Immigration enforcement operations – No participation. Bar the city employees and municipal departments from assist or cooperating with any federal agency in any immigration enforcement operation.Requesting information prohibited. No city employee or municipal department shall request information from a person about their citizenship or immigration status.Information security. No city employee or municipal department shall enter into any contractual agreement or arrangement with a federal agency to provide access to any database operated by a municipal department
